Orège announces the signature of its first contract in the USA with CH2M

Orège, specialist in providing innovative solutions for the treatment of sludge and of complex effluents has successfully launched its development in the USA with the signature of a first contract for the sale to CH2M of an SLG (40m3/h) solution.

This solution, deployed at Lehigh County (Pennsylvania) on a waste water treatment plant operated by the CH2M Group, has generated very good results on digested sludge from an installation which treats a mix of industrial and municipal effluents judged by the operator to be one of the most complex to dewater.

The SLG solution is installed upstream of a belt filter press for dewatering and has resulted in:

  • An improvement in dewatering of 3.5%
  • A reduction in polymer consumption of 25%
  • An increase of 50% in the sludge treatment flow rate with a capture rate greater than 99%

The return on investment for CH2M should be less than 2 years.

CH2M is considered one of the top three American engineering firms at the forefront for the validation and adoption of innovative technologies in the water, environmental and energy sectors.

This contract is the outcome of Orège’s technical and commercial actions initiated in the spring of 2015.

Currently comprising 10 staff and based in Atlanta, Orège North America is creating industrial partnerships providing local manufacture of SLG equipment to US standards. It also ensures the commercial deployment of the SLG technology in North America and the underlying campaigns to validate the technology with each of our different clients/partners.

This promising start achieved in less than 9 months and the discussions underway with other waste water treatment plant operators show the pertinence of the decision to start the development of business in North America and allow us to anticipate a significant potential for growth in this market.
